Microgrids/Mini-grids

The original Smart Grid has been conceived as a Top down strategy by virtue of which the information at the local level is minimized which eventually means the system can never be very smart locally and has to depend on the Control center making real time master decisions. Under this new technology Real time decisions would involve detailed data being sent all the way to the central control center and then back to each device. This idea will further depend on an extremely complicated high speed communications network that is a combination of HAN, FAN/AMI, WAN and LAN (the blue dotted lines).

- Water Pumps for drinking and irrigation-Smart Solar Pumps(SSP)

Cygni's Solar DC solutions or DC Micro-grid is an innovative technology which provides green solar energy and dc power at a very low cost. The technology removes the requirement of AC to DC and DC to AC conversions which helps in reducing the cost of production of per unit watt power. This technology was conceptualized by IIT Madras and implemented by Cygni. We have brought electricity to over 20000 homes across India and building first DC Microgrid city in Sasaram, Bihar.
